- Ongoing monitoring by setting up of monitoring centres in 6 different places for the monitoring of air quality of Kathmandu valley after enforcing the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) and arrangement for the dissemination of results thereof through various media.
- Arrangements of regular monitoring as well as surprise check, among others, after issuing the emission and technology standards to limit the fumes to be emitted from vehicles.
- Phasing out of polluting vehicles from Kathmandu valley and promotion of environment friendly electric vehicles.
- Framing and enforcement of industrial emission standards to be enforced for nine types of industries in particular for the control of industrial pollution.
- Institutionalization and consolidation of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process with the objective of minimization of negative impacts to be caused in environment by the developmental projects.
- Publishing of, on a regular basis, publications relating to protection of environment such as report on state of environment (SoE) and environment journal.
- Issuance of Information Technology Policy, 2057 [2000 A.D.] and Science and Technology Policy, 2061 [2005 A.D.].
- Enforcement of the Electronic Transaction Rules, 2061 [2005 A.D.] and Information Technology (Procedures) Rules, 2061 [2005 A.D.] framed under the Electronic Transaction Ordinance, 2061 [2005 A.D.]
- Completion of construction of the office building of the Information Technology Park and commercial as well as residential buildings in Banepa of Kabhrepalanchwok District.
- In addition to other functions such as flood and weather forecasting; lowering, by 3 metres, of level of Tsho Rolpa glacial lake under the Tsho Rolpa Glacial Lake Minimization Project.
- Creation and operation of the main website (www.nepalhmg.gov.np) of Government of Nepal through the development and expansion of internet facility in various ministries, secretariats and departments.
- Operation of second phase programme of Promotion of Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Green House Gas Abatement (PREGA) with the support of Asian Development Bank.
- Already State Party to a total of 17 various Multinational Environmental Agreements (MEAs) including the recent decision of accessing the Kyoto Protocol under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
