OBJECTIVES
The major objectives of the Ministry are to:

  1. Promote environmentally sustainable economic development of the country.

  2. Preserve natural and cultural environment.

  3. Protect life supporting system (i.e. air, water and soil).

  4. Identify a new technology through the development and promotion of research activities in the field of environment, science and technology and contribute to achieving the national objectives regarding poverty alleviation by developing appropriate and new technology through the research.

  5. Develop and promote traditional indigenous technologies.

  6. Encourage the intellectual groups working in the field of environment, science and technology by creating appropriate opportunities.
